Hi, and thanks for visiting my site. My name, as it says, is Eamon Siggins but my good friends know me as Fred. I am 24 years old and was born in Melbourne, Australia where I now live again after eleven years in the USA. I shoot constantly and do freelance photo jobs whenever I can. My goal is to be on staff of a large urban daily, a news magazine, or for a news service such as the AP. My influences include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Lee Miller and Edward Weston as well as the amazing work of many of the AFP phtographers. When I shoot, I generally focus on people. I believe the variations on the human experience are infinite, so it's impossible to get bored or take the same photo twice. Everyone has a story that's worth telling, so if I can make a photo that helps tell that story I feel like I've done something useful to the world. I also believe that the individual, personal reactions to a major event really bring the story to life, so I look for those reactions when I shoot. My main photography experience was four years as the photo editor of Pipe Dream, Binghamton University's student newspaper. At BU I also worked for the Office of Communications and Marketing shooting for university publications and websites. While mostly self-taught I owe great improvements in my photos to my mentors Costa Sakelleriou and Evangelos Dousmanis and to my friends and family for enduring my endless neurotic questions. While the photos that appear here have been edited in Photoshop for sharpness, levels, contrast, etc. none of them have been manipulated beyond that.
